SHOPPING & DINING IN DOWNTOWN OGDEN Historic 25th Street
Historic 25th Street is the official “main” street of shopping, dining and gallery hopping in the City of Ogden. It features some unique boutiques (our favorite is Olive and Dahlia, hard to explain, so check it out), a good variety of dining options and some terrific galleries. It’s easy to get to and worth the 20-minute drive.
Below is an excerpt from an article by Virginia Rainey, frequent visitor to Wolf Creek Resort, in Sunset Magazine in 2005 that perfectly captures the essence of Historic 25th Street in Ogden.
“Try as they might, most cities simply cannot manufacture what Ogden, Utah’s Historic 25th Street already has: authentic retro style. All the local merchants had to do was polish it up.
Over the past decade, the old rail center’s funky brick buildings, creaky antiques stores, 1950s nightclub, and Chinese noodle house with a vintage neon sign have all been restored; some have been completely renovated. Today the street’s classic personality merges seamlessly with chic new boutiques and restaurants along the three-block stretch from Union Station to Washington Boulevard, making it the ideal destination for of shopping, sipping, and savoring."
